Chrystal Malapas is a Registered Acupuncturist. She is a graduate of the Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine program at PCU College of Holistic Medicine in Burnaby, BC. In addition to attending this program, Chrystal trained in Acupuncture at the Western Canadian Institute of TCM Practitioners in Richmond, BC. Chrystal also has additional training in Japanese Meridian Therapy with Ikeda Masakazu sensei, and Constitution Facial Acupuncture Renewal™ with Mary Elizabeth Wakefield.

Prior to studying Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Chrystal obtained her Bachelor's degree in Biology under the Pre-Med Program from Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines. During this time, in her junior year while her classmates were applying to med schools, Chrystal felt that this was not the path for her. With one more year left in her degree, she decided to take an elective that she had heard lots of good things about. Walking into the Traditional Chinese Medicine class, she was expecting an older practitioner who would give lots of readings. Instead, she found herself listening intently to a fairly young Western doctor who had studied Acupuncture. Everything made sense! This started Chrystal on a journey of self-discovery. He encouraged them to try acupuncture for themselves and being adventurous Chrystal was one of the first to show up in his clinic. She told him about her life-long problem that she had resigned to having forever - psoriasis, since birth. Chrystal had previously tried everything - from strong corticosteroids to the miracle creams advertised on the back of magazines. Not many of them worked and some had further damaged her skin. She was not expecting much, and was pleasantly surprised when the Acupuncture and TCM made such a significant difference! It was at that point that Chrystal decided that TCM would be part of her life.

It gives Chyrstal great joy to see Acupuncture and TCM change so many lives and she feels blessed to be a part of your path to optimum health.
